The monastery gorge is one of the most visited gorges in the Slovak Paradise National Park. I went through it several times, but this time I took a tripod. In addition to hiking, I wanted to take pictures of waterfalls. This gorge has one advantage. Its transition is not time consuming.
At work, we spontaneously decided to go hiking. I quickly threw things into my backpack and we set off.
We are in the parking lot in twenty minutes. The hike can begin. A friend set a fast pace. Soon we are at the mouth of the Monastery Gorge. This is where the passage through the gorge begins. The pace has slowed down and we enjoy the beauty of nature.
Fallen trees and narrow gorge passages created by water. This is the Monastery Gorge.
I stop at a small waterfall, which was created by a fallen tree. In the photo, I try to capture running water using a longer exposure.
It doesn't take long and we come to the first waterfall. Rainbow Waterfall is the largest waterfall in the Monastery Gorge. We will use a ladder to overcome it.
I stop at another small waterfall. I try to capture the beauty of the gorge.
Cascades of Gustav Nedobrý, this is another waterfall that flows through the gorge. The water dug its way across the rock, creating a narrow gorge.
In several places, it looks as if the gorge was supported by tree trunks. As if she wanted to collapse.
Of all the waterfalls in the gorge, I like Machov Waterfall the most. The rock behind the waterfall is nicely overgrown with moss, which gives it a unique view. If more water flowed, the waterfall would stand out even more.
Thank you
