Štrbské lake is the largest and most famous lake in the High Tatras. It is one of the centers where tourism and relaxation meet. Thanks to the number of hotels, you can relax here after a demanding alpine hike.
For those who do not smell hiking and want to see nice alpine views, this place offers a solution. There is a cable car that will take you to the cottage under Solisko. From here there is a nice view of the whole Strbske lake.
Those who still want to see more can run off the cable car to Predné Solisko. From the top, the views are even more beautiful.
I usually start my hikes at Štrbské lake. This time I came here with my wife and not even a one-year-old daughter. Around Štrbské pleso there is an educational hiking trail, which is ideal for family walks. You can even go after it with a carriage like us. You will walk around the whole ball, so you can look at the ball from every side.
The most beautiful view in my opinion is the view of the lake with the panorama of the High Tatras in the background.
Štrbské lake is a grateful object for tourists even in winter. And not just for tourists. In winter, you can skate on a frozen lake and even cross-country skiers for cross-country skiers. There are also cross-country trails at Štrbské lake, but cross-country skiing on the lake undoubtedly has its charm. The weather was not good for us in the winter and we were caught by snow storm.
The ski jumps located here are used for youth competitions. We looked at some of them.
