In the morning we arrive in the village Hajnáčka, where our today's tour begins. We climb the castle hill, which rises above the village. The ruins of the medieval castle Hajnáčka are located here.
Ruins of Hajnáčka castle
The castle was built during the Mongol invasion of Hungary in 1241.

In 1545 it was conquered by the Ottomans. They only owned it for one year. The castle was an important defensive point, but a hundred years later it was briefly occupied again. After their departure, the castle was fortified again, but it was only partially used. In 1703 a fire broke out in it and since then it has fallen into disrepair.
From the castle we have a nice view of the village and the surrounding area.
Village Hajnáčka
We walk along the castle hill. This place is steeped in history, but many things have not survived to this day. Only the remains of the perimeter walls have been preserved. The stones from the castle were probably dismantled by the villagers and used to build their own houses.
We go down and continue on our way. We climb the hill from where we have a nice view of the village and the castle.
This tour is a little different than usual. We usually arrive at the end of our expedition in the middle or at the end of the tour. This time our goal was Hajnáčka Castle, which we saw right at the beginning.
However, the hike continues and we roam the Cer Highlands.
We were convinced that many animals live here, a deer, which welcomed us right at the entrance to the forest.
We walk through the forest at a leisurely pace. From time to time I come to see interesting places and animals.
It is a very pleasant environment in which I fully relax.
Untouched nature full of life. This is what characterizes the Cer Highlands.
Well thank you
