Never tell a lie, Papa!

I was only 18 years old. That time I spent with my family. My father was one of the prominent person of the village. My father built a house in an uninhabited area about 20 km from the city. A few days later several families came there to make their home. A handful of families. There were not many friends or playmates around. So there was less opportunity to play or go out. I was looking for an opportunity to go to the city to get out of prison. I have already learned how to drive a new bike.

One day my father had a meeting in city. If my father wanted to take me for market expenses and shopping, I agreed unanimously. Mother handed over a list of various things Upon arriving in town. After reaching, my father asked me to pick up my mother's list of chores and mend bike. And order me to return to the front of the meeting room at exactly 6 o'clock in the evening. After a quick shopping, I went straight to see the movie.

Salman Shah's Bangla movie 'Ei Ghar Ei Sansar' directed by Malek Afsari. I was so excited to see the movie that my father's words disappeared from my mind. Suddenly thinking of my father, I looked at my watch and saw that it was half past five. Ihappth the garage at the speed of the storm. The clock struck 6.40 as he drove to the front of the room.

Seeing me, my father asked anxiously, why you are late? I would be ashamed to say where I was, so I replied - the bike is not ready. So it was late. And i told my father, don't ever put a bike in that place. Dad bowed his head and said, I raised you is true but under no circumstances did I dare to tell you the truth. Something went wrong. I do not know how can i teach you. Saying this, my father started walking on the broken and dark road. Meanwhile, I didn't understand the donkey. My father called to garage before I reached there.

Dad is walking in front. I was in the back with the bike. I just watched as Dad struggled and suffered on the road for about four hours. On the way he rested a little at times but never looked at me once. I did not dare to talk to my father. What a shame, I realized that day. As soon as I reached home, I saw that everyone was waiting anxiously. As soon as the father entered the yard, he lay down with a tired body.

I do not know what happened. After a while, father called my mother for water. I did not have the courage to take the water given by my mother that day. It has been almost ten years since my father passed away but the scene still floats in my eyes.

prayed to the Creator many times in a tearful voice while walking behind my father and on that sleepless night, I promised never to lie again in my life.
