Today we will be talking about my local football team.

First of all, lemme talk about my location, where I live and how we value the game of football.

Cross river state Nigeria

I live in cross river state Nigeria. It is located in the south-south zone of the country.
In my area, young people always involve themselves in many sports, most especially football.
Coming to my hood, the game of football has been the most important game and a lot of people even take it as their hobby.

Now let's talk about local team.

1. Location

My team is located in Afi-barracks, ikom, cross river state, Nigeria. It is inside a military barracks.

2. About the pitch;

Our football pitch is truly a old one. Though it is not a grassy type of field, but a Sandy one.
The football field is also a big one and it has given us a lot of victories

Also the shape of our football pitch is rectangular according to the rule of the game. Though the measurements of different field my vary, but it has one thing in common, the linings and the shape.
So for this, our pitch is also a good one though has no linings because it is a Sandy ground. But we do mark the field ones in awhile, most especially during big games with the neighbouring villages.

3. Our formation

We have a our own formation too, just like any other football team. When you watch a football game, there are two things you tend to understand; (1) their pattern of play and (2) their formation.

Our formation is usually the common 4-3-3 formation. This is one of our two formations.

The 4-3-3 formation of my local football team is our main formation for big games and for games that we really want to win. But also, we also play the 3-4-3 formation just to test the performances of our midfielders and forwards.

4. Our pattern of play(tiki-taka or counter?)

Honestly, we don't normally play a possession game(tiki-taka), we always go for the goals, but we do it with great ability and skills.
Talking about possession, is not that we don't play possession, but most our games is based on counter and we play a very fast game, with massive defence and massive attack.

5. Some of our major players

Most of us are good, but with that, we also have players that are good at what they play or do on the field.

First, we have a good goalkeeper, Jesse, our good defenders Godwin and Samuel.
When you come to the midfielders, we have Emmanuel, Udoh, haruna and Emma.... They are all very good.

What about the forwards? We have shedrach, Charles(of course me), Musa and Simon... We are all good at what we offer on the field.

6. Our Accomplishments

We have won different games and has done a lot things to move the team forward. Although we don't go out to play local leagues like the other teams, I will explain why in the next paragraph.

7. Our Challenges

We have a lot of challenges, and our major one is the fact that we have nobody in my area who has that desired passion and value for football.
We have no sponsors, nobody to help us in terms of monetary needs which has drastically brought us down and has been a major problem in our locality.

But for all these I've said above, we still have some good things that you could find when you spend a day or two watching my team play there game.

1. Our Desire.

Spending a day watching us play, you will definitely see that we have that beautiful desire for the game of football. We all do.

2. Punctuality.

Because of our desire to play the game of football, always have in us the spirit of punctuality. We make sure we don't do things behind schedules and always make sure that we come out in time for trainings and matches.

3. Seeing talents being displayed

Wow!!! One good thing I love us is the fact that we always display in full what we can do. You will see raw talents being displayed by most of us in the pitch...

Firstly, we all have to understand that talent is the major Characteristics of a footballer, followed by hardwork.. come and see good talents in place being showed off.

4. About our coach and captain

We don't have a bad system of management but everything is strick just to shape us up to the correct direction to the game of football. Both coaches and captain are doing positively well to improve the team.

5. Our diversity.

Everyone in my team is unique and will be able to offer their own skill and knowledge that others may not possess. Helping in different ways to achieve the same output with different formats of input.

6. We play, we have fun.

It shouldn’t be all work and no play! it’s very good to inject a bit of enjoyment into working life. We work, and also, we have fun for ourselves in order not to burnout our energies.

7. I know we are organized and communicate well with each other.

This has been another great football feature from day one... All players are supposed to have that organized spirit and and also, good relationship between themselves.

But always remember that the best thing about a football team.... is the cooperation you have in the team, when you're walking together towards a goal. And also, you don't need to be the best in order to partake in the game.
