On a Sunday morning, while Victor was preparing for church, his phone rang, he checked and saw that it was his dad that was calling. At first he felt reluctant to pick up the phone because each time his dad calls, the conversation lasts for ages. He decided to pick up the call with the intention of telling his dad that he'd call back later when he returned from church.
But surprisingly to him, his dad only called to tell him he should bring his girlfriend to show him later in the day, hence the conversation was just in seconds.
"Okay Daddy,"he said as he hung up and threw the phone on the bed as he continued rushing with his preparation for church.
As he was setting off to church, he sent an SMS to Diana, his girlfriend, requesting that she come over in the evening so they could visit his dad.
Within 6 minutes, he received a reply from Diana, and it reads:
>This is a little bit impromptu. You know I don't joke with Manchester City's match, and this evening is the match's time. But anyway, I'll be there. See you, love.🥰
When it was evening, Diana arrived around 4:00 p.m., and Victor didn't waste time, they set off to his dad's house.
As soon as they arrived and drove into the compound, Diana became astonished at the large and spacious vicinity surrounding them, and she said, "You never told me that your dad is a politician because it's only politicians that have this spacious land for a compound."
Victor chuckled and replied, "Not at all, my dad is not into politics but works in the government house."
"Let me keep it here first, we'll drag it when we get home," Diana said as they both laughed.
They entered inside, and the sitting room was empty. The TV was showing the Manchester City vs. Liverpool match.
Diana became so excited upon seeing the match that she'll be watching it at last.
"Please have a seat, enjoy the football match. Let me go and get my dad." Victor offered her seat while he went inside to call his dad.
In a jiffy, they both walked in from the room, Victor got Diana introduced to his dad, and they began to bond well as if they'd met before.
"Victor, why not test we Diana's cooking capacity?" The dad uttered and it landed as a surprise to them via their looks.
"No problem, Diana is a wonderful cook, and you'll attest to it when you have a taste of it today"
Victor ushered Diana to the kitchen, and as soon as they got there, she broke the silence and said, "You know I'd be lying if I tell you that I'm pleased with this test of a thing, right?"
"I know baby, but we can't help it. Meanwhile, I trust you to pass this test in grand style," Victor said while romancing her to tame her already-angry mood.
Victor left for the sitting room while Diana was left alone in the kitchen, thinking about what to cook and praying to God for accurate measurements of the seasonings.
She did everything well within an hour, and as she was bringing out the meal to set in the dining room, Manchester City scored and she screamed "Gooooooaaaal!" the plate containing the meal from her hand fell to the floor and got scattered all over the floor.
"Diana!"
Victor angrily screamed her name and she stood still...her senses came back.
The father was standing in awe, looking at her. He couldn't believe what he had just witnessed.
"No, no, no, daddy, please, I'm so sorry." I.... I.... I..." She knelt down and broke into tears.
The dad was still speechless, imagining the kind of person she was.
"Sorry for what? That you can't control yourself when it comes to football, even at this critical stage?" Victor lambasted her.
Shame had taken over her, she couldn't look up to their faces, she was knelt and her face was bent.

Victor's dad walked up to her and pulled her up. "It's okay dear, I really understand your situation, stop crying. Please just clean the messy floor, and yes, still bring the food, I want to eat what you prepared."
Victor, seeing the situation, went to help Diana clean up the floor but was still very angry.
When everything was cleaned up, they entered the dining room, and Victor's dad decided to sit in between them. While eating, he made Victor understand how the body system reacts whenever a favorite team is playing, "it can make a sport fan behaves in a strange way and that was what happened to Diana. The only thing she has to do is control her adrenaline when watching her favorite team play"
The father's words melted hearts, and they resolved the issue that day.
