A affluent family's father took his son on a vacation to the countryside one day with the express goal of showing his son how poor people live.
They stayed on a farm belonging to a very impoverished family for a couple of days and nights. "How was the trip?" the father said after they returned from their trip.
"It was fantastic, Dad," I said.
The father inquired, "Did you observe how poor people live?"
"Oh sure," the son replied.
"So, tell me about your vacation. What did you learn?" enquired the father
"I saw that we only had one dog whereas they have four," the son replied. We have a pool that runs the length of our garden, and they have an endless creek. In our garden, we have imported lanterns they are bless with stars that light up at night.
Our patio stretches all the way to the front yard, and they have the entire horizon to themselves. We dwell on a small plot of land, but they have fields that go far beyond our view. Our servants serve us, but they also serve others. They grow their own food, whilst we buy ours. We have fences around our home to keep intruders out; they have pals to keep them safe."
The boy's father couldn't say anything.
"Thanks, Dad, for showing me how impoverished we are," his kid added.
