Joniel era un niño de cinco años de edad que estudiaba en la escuela inicial cercana a su hogar, el pequeño vivía con sus padres y hermanita menor. Joel, padre de Joniel trabajaba como asesor de ventas en una empresa de autos mientras su madre era administradora de empresas, pero por atender a su familia renunció al sueño de ser ejecutiva, mientras tanto atendía el hogar, su esposo, a Joniel y su linda beba Daniela quien tenía un año de vida.

Cada día Joniel asistía a su escuelita donde aprendía lo básico para un niño de edad, su madre lo llevaba a las ocho de la maña y lo recogía a las dos de la tarde, cuando Joniel regresaba a casa ya su madre tenía todo al ordenado y limpio según su rutina diaria, mientras que el jefe de la familia salía al trabajo a las siete de la mañana y regresaba a las cinco de la tarde cansado, escasamente disfrutaban juntos muy pocas horas.

Joniel se caracterizaba por ser curioso y con frecuencia todo lo preguntaba a mamá y papá, quienes les despejaban sus dudas con amabilidad. Al pasar un año el pequeño avanzó al primer grado de primaria y toda la familia festejó el logro obtenido, asistieron a un restaurante y luego fueron de paseo al parque disfrutar con otros compañeritos.

Al iniciar las clases en el nuevo ambiente Joniel estaba más ansioso por aprender más, su curiosidad estaba mucho más hambrienta por lo que aprendía rápido y quería saber más por lo que no dejaba de preguntar, su papá al ver el entusiasmo le obsequio una enciclopedia de historietas lo cual lo mantenía entretenido, Por su parte su madre estaba un poco aburrida de tanta rutina y le manifestó a su esposo la necesidad de un teléfono para mantenerse en comunicación con sus amigas.

Llegó el día de las madres y la sorpresa para mamá Daniels fue el tan anhelado teléfono inteligente, lo cual la alegró mucho, era algo nuevo para ella y la haría salir de la rutina. Pasaron unos meses y a papá Joel lo ascendieron en el empleo, además le regalaron una estupenda lapto con la cual podría complementar el trabajo desde casa, y nada sería igual en casa con la llegada de la tecnología.

Mamá y papá de Joniel vivía sumergidos en sus dispositivos, cada vez que el pequeño curioso sentía la necesidad de preguntar algo, sus padres estaban ocupados o le respondían cualquier cosa sin mirarlo a los ojos. El niño tan inteligente pudo darse cuenta de que ya no era tomado en cuenta como antes, ahora existían otras prioridades entre las que no estaba él, lo cual le molestaba y entristecía.

Así pasaron algunos meses y Joniel se mostraba malhumorado en casa, pero nadie lo notaba, cada quien estaba en lo suyo y no había tiempo para los niños, los pequeños trataban de compartir por largos ratos entre hermanos para de alguna manera estar en familia, pero sin la atención de mamá y papá ya no era lo mismo.

Un buen día Joniel llegó del colegio directo a su cuarto y en cuanto llegó papá, el pequeño salió para mostrarles a sus padres el reconocimiento recibido en la escuela por sus buenas calificaciones, sus padres sin mirar lo que su hijo les mostraba lo felicitaron. Muy molesto el pequeño les grito mamá, papá, mírenme a la cara cuando les hable; estos sorprendidos con los gritos del niño voltearon a mirarlo y en eso Joniel les soltó lo que se suponía era el reconocimiento.

Nunca existió tal reconocimiento, el pequeño solo estaba desmejorando su rendimiento escolar debido a la falta de atención de sus padres, el papel solo decía que era una convocatoria hacia los padres de este para conversar acerca del repentino y escaso rendimiento académico de Joniel. Desde entonces los padres de los pequeños lograron entender que le dieron más espacio a lo innecesario para perder lo necesario, por lo que desde ese momento decidieron recuperar la familia que un día fueron para felicidad de todos.

Joniel was a five year old boy who studied at the kindergarten near his home, the little boy lived with his parents and younger sister. Joel, Joniel's father worked as a sales consultant in a car company while his mother was a business administrator, but to take care of her family she gave up her dream of being an executive, meanwhile she took care of the home, her husband, Joniel and their beautiful baby girl Daniela who was one year old.

Every day Joniel attended his little school where he learned the basics for a child of age, his mother took him at eight in the morning and picked him up at two in the afternoon, when Joniel returned home and his mother had everything tidy and clean according to their daily routine, while the head of the family left for work at seven in the morning and returned at five in the afternoon tired, they hardly enjoyed together very few hours.

Joniel was characterized for being curious and often asked everything to mom and dad, who cleared up his doubts with kindness. After a year, the little boy advanced to the first grade of elementary school and the whole family celebrated his achievement, they went to a restaurant and then they went for a walk to the park to enjoy with other classmates.

When classes began in the new environment Joniel was more eager to learn more, his curiosity was much hungrier so he learned fast and wanted to know more so he kept asking questions, his dad seeing the enthusiasm gave him an encyclopedia of comics which kept him entertained, for his part his mother was a little bored with so much routine and told her husband the need for a phone to keep in communication with her friends.

Mother's Day arrived and the surprise for Mom Daniels was the long-awaited smart phone, which made her very happy, it was something new for her and it would get her out of the routine. A few months went by and dad Joel was promoted in his job, and they also gave him a great laptop with which he could complement his work from home, and nothing would be the same at home with the arrival of technology.

Joniel's mom and dad lived immersed in their devices, every time the curious little boy felt the need to ask something, his parents were busy or answered him anything without looking him in the eyes. The very intelligent child could realize that he was no longer taken into account as before, now there were other priorities among which he was not, which bothered and saddened him.

Some months went by and Joniel was grumpy at home, but nobody noticed it, everyone was doing their own thing and there was no time for the children, the little ones tried to share for long periods of time between siblings to somehow be with the family, but without the attention of mom and dad it was not the same.

One fine day Joniel came home from school straight to his room and as soon as Dad arrived, the little boy went out to show his parents the recognition received at school for his good grades, his parents without looking at what their son was showing them congratulated him. Very upset, the little boy shouted to them, mom, dad, look at my face when I talk to you; they were surprised with the child's shouts and turned to look at him and then Joniel let them know what was supposed to be the recognition.

There was never any such recognition, the little boy was only improving his school performance due to the lack of attention from his parents, the paper only said that it was a summons to his parents to talk about Joniel's sudden and poor academic performance. Since then the parents of the little ones managed to understand that they gave more space to the unnecessary to lose the necessary, so from that moment they decided to recover the family they once were for the happiness of all.
