I had to return from my travel yesterday just to be able to attend the traditional marriage of a church member of us only to realize this morning that I had no idea of where the marriage was going to take place.
I became reluctant to attend the marriage since I had no idea but luckily for me at the noon of the day, a friend of mine called me to inform me he would be attending the marriage, reluctantly, I got up from bed, dressed up, and joined him.
When we got to the situated village where the marriage is to take place which is the village of the girl, we realized it was an interior village.
I also saw a house which I was told by others that it is was a mortuary home
I was amazed by the sculpture of a bird that stood in front of the house but I was afraid to go closer to show a full shot of the house and the sculpture immediately I was told that it was a mortuary home used for keeping dead people corpses.
The marriage started at about 4 p.m. after the normal traditional process was observed which includes the bride's family inviting the groom's family into their home and treating them to assorted kinds of local food that is prepared in that local government or state.
The marriage kicked off with them calling the groom first to take his place and then inviting the bride to take her place both with a danceable song that sent the crowd roaring as these couples danced to their heartfelt.
They were both asked to officially show their fiance to their parents and the villagers and everyone who came to witness the marriage and then they were blessed by their parents and the Ministers who came to attend the ceremony and gifts were given to you them to take to their marital home.
It was blissful, I couldn't help but smile as I watched the couples and this happens to be my first traditional marriage that I am attending this year.
I wish them a wonderful and blessed marital life as they begin this new journey of life.
