The popular saying "do not judge a book by its cover" has been proven to be applicable in different ways and situations. It is common for people to come to a conclusion from judging someone or something from the outside and in most cases they are always not correct. Most times, books may have a boring cover without any interesting designs and patterns, yet it is filled with amazing contents that is going to blow your mind. This saying is not only applicable to just books but it can also be used to describe how people judge others or things from the outside.

So, I had to deliver a parcel to someone sometimes last month in her house and halfway to her house I observed that the environment is in a remote area, more like a slum. The houses look old, the environment looks messy with so many dirts and dirty waters in the drainage. This gave me an idea that the people who reside around may look unkempt and untidy. But, I was surprised when I got to her apartment and she was as neat and orderly as anything. She changed my idea of what every person that stays in that area should look like. I was beginning to think everybody that resides in the area will look and act like the area but the reverse is the case.
In other words, this woman lives an exceptional lifestyle even though she resides in an environment that is not too "tush". She didn't let her environment determine the kind of life she lives. This is how it is in so many phases of life where people are unique and deviate from the norm. There are lots of reasons why it may be wrong to judge a book by its cover and it is because you don't know anything about the person just only by their color, race, mode of dressing, the way they speak and even the environment they reside. For example, if you see a decent dressed gentleman, you can't tell what kind of person he is - good or evil - until you have got to know him more.

Simply put, outward appearance can be misleading and it should not be a basis to judge someone.
