Each time her mind kept going back to that day, the day she received the rejection letter.
When she started processing her application to study in another country, it was like a dream "going" to come through. She had always wanted to relocate to another country, study further and start life afresh with the opportunities laying wait there for her that her country couldn't give her. So for Naya, her visa application was very important, as it would determine a lot of things.
She made available all the necessary documents to the embassy, went extra mile on the ones she didn't have and even had to write an international exam on a very short notice. Through all these, she was so sure her visa was going to be approved. She put all her savings in for the financial proof of stay. Naya prayed to her maker that things would go smoothly and her visa be granted. After the submission, it was time to wait. The wait was more like a torture as she became so nervous of what the outcome maybe.
Then the day came, she got an email from the embassy saying she does not meet the requirements for approval. She was shocked as she read the mail at first, she read it again this time she sighed with pain in her heart. This is something she had always wanted, "why wasn't my visa application approved", she thought as she felt like crying but the tears didn't come.
She felt disappointed, her expectations dashed away, her plans ruined....everything just became nothing instantly. "What am I going to do? Thank God I didn't tell anyone yet.....ah! Shit....f**k, what next? What am I going to do?", she said repeatedly, with no tears ready to save the day. All she did was just lay on the bed, grabbed on to the bed then bit it so hard and was just there thinking there she slept off.
Waking up later in the day, she felt empty and unwilling to do anything. Her family tried to console her but she just felt numb to all they said. Days and weeks passed, still nothing....to make things worse the situation in her country was getting worse by the day. "Who will I call for help?", she thought. Each time again her mind kept going back to that day, the day she received the rejection letter.
Then she decided it wasn't the end....."I can't give up like this, I need to try again...I have to try again. I can't remain here in a country with little or no opportunity, I really need this", so she picked up herself for the same journey yet again but this time putting more things into consideration. "I need to be more prepared this time", she said to herself.
In life, not all comes in the order we plan them. One may be disappointed along the way, or have their expectations and hopes dashed into thin air like it never existed....leaving you empty and back at where you began. You become confused, not knowing where to pick up from and maybe even ashamed to face the people around you, it is never easy. Should I say life works in a funny way? When you put so much expectation on something, it doesn't happen but that which you were not even expecting much from comes or happen....funny right?
Keep trying, but with correction or different methods. If what you are doing at the moment doesn't or isn't working, try another route...method or you can research more and then try again.

Hello @bliss11 What an true story about the disappointment of wanting something you have worked for and to find out you didn't get it. It does make you doubt yourself. That's when you really have to take a look at your process and aim to do things differently to provide for a better result.
The advice you give is true.
