There were three witches that came towards them. They told Macbeth that he would be the next King of Scotland.

Macbeth wrote to his wife to tell her the news. She wanted Macbeth to become king because then she could become Queen and that is something that she really wanted. Scotland did have a king at that moment.

The King of Scotland was King Duncan and Macbeth's wife invited him over when Macbeth was back. When Duncan was asleep she told Macbeth to kill him so that he could become king. Macbeth did not want to do it. He knew that Duncan was a good King.

Macbeth knew it was wrong to kill Duncan, but he wanted to become King. Then he saw a knife in front of him....

Macbeth kills Duncan quickly, but he feels very guilty.

Macbeth's wife tells him that nobody will ever know, but he is worried that he will tell his best friend. For him to make sure he does not do it, he decides that Banquo must also dies.

Macbeths tells his servants to kill Banquo.

He now feels more guilty because two very good men are dead. It bothers him a lot and he is sure people will find out. He is very scared.

One night the ghost of Banquo visits Macbeth and he gets so scared that he visits the witches again. They lie to him and tell him everything will be fine.

An army that knows Macbeth killed Duncan attacks the castle and kills Macbeth.

The lesson we can learn from this story is never do wrong things in order for you to get what you want. Most of the time you will either feel guilty or get into trouble.
