We have to practice our reading and spelling every day. We must also make sure that we understand what we read. If we do not understand then all the reading is for nothing.

Kathy's mom take Jessie the dog on a walk every day. In the afternoon, they go to Kathy's school and then go home.
Today Kathy and her friend Nancy comes running out of the school gates and ask Kathy's mom if they can go to the park,
Jessie is still a puppy and has never been to a park. He wonders what happens at a parl. He is very excited when Kathy's mom says they may go.
When they get to the park, there is a huge sign that says "No dogs allowed." Jessie does not understand how people can be so mean not to let dogs come and play with all the kids.
Katy's mom tie Jessie's leash to a bench and tell him to wait for them, they will not be long.
Jessie lies down and watches all the kids play. There are swings and slides and it seems as though everybody is having a lot of fun.
Jessie feels sad that he cannot play with them but he waits like a good dog until they come back. Not all people like dogs. He knows that.
Nancy and Kathy are so excited when they come running back and untie Jessie. "O Jessie, it was so much fun. I wish you could play with us, but we will have to take you to the dog park."
The dog park is fun and Nancy always throws the ball, but there are no swings or slides or monkey bars.
That evening Jessie cannot stop thinking about the park. He waits until everybody is asleep and then slips out of the house and runs to the park.
He just wants to play a little while. He cannot believe his eyes when he gets there....
All over the park are dogs playing and running around. "Hi Jessie, an old dog says. I see at last you join us at the NO DOGS ALLOWED park."
