Steven Gerrard born on May 30, 1980, his talents were discovered at the age of nine, and eight years later he signed his first professional club where he would go on to one of the greatest captains to grace the Anfield faithful.

Stevie breakthrough came in the 2000-01 season where he became a regular starter and to cap off the fine season he won England's young player of the year award.

At the age of 23, he was given the responsibility of captaining the reds. In 2005 in the final, he had to dig deep to motivate the team which arguably spark the greats come back in the club's history ending the club's 21-year wait in bringing European glory, Liverpool.

With all this success the club almost lost Stevie to Chelsea, Liverpool knew that swift action was needed and they ensured he had a contract that suited his needs, fresh of a new contract he would the repay the faith by adding the FA Cup and the Super Cup to the trophy cabinet, also on a personal note he was named player of the year.

The club then spent four seasons out of the champions league, with lots of big names leaving but Stevie stayed true to the cause adding the league one cup and finishing runners up in the FA cup.

The 2013-2014 season felt as if Liverpool was finally going get that trophy that they so truly deserved, but it was not to be Liverpool narrowly missed out on 1st place with a loss of points in the last 2 weeks of the league.

Stevie G stayed just one more season before leaving for LA Galaxy in the states. he left been number five on the highest goal scorers list for Liverpool. He retired in 2016 after completing 2 successful seasons with the club

He also made his England debut in 2000. he was named captain in the 2010 world cup and retired just after the 2014 world cup after losing 2 games in the group stage.

with his playing days behind him, he went on to earn his coaching badges and focusing on the Liverpool under 17s before moving to Rangers.

There is no doubt he would be the natural successor to Jurgen Klopp. Stevie had a long career with the club, he proved every time he wore the shit he would die for the team.
