Looking at how last season ended, one would think that this season would be another two-horse race been defending Champions, Liverpool and Manchester City but the whole thing looks like City are not going to shine this season
At the moment of writing this post they are currently sitting at the 8th in the table with 23 points having won 6 games out of 13 games played, drew 5 and lost 2. They are now 8 points behind the defending Champions, Liverpool
Even teams like Leicester City, Chelsea, Everton and Manchester United have been more consistent that City this season. Although you might say it's early to judge and that City can still overthrown them and take the lead. I'm not disputing that
Of course they can still get things right and close the gap just that the possibility of them winning the league is what I don't see happening, now that other top teams like Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea have woken up
The absence of Aguero and Silva this season is also hurting them. Aside that, maybe other teams have accustomed to Pep’s system of dominance and have found proper defensive tactics to respond to it.
