Earlier today, 4 additional Premier League fixtures were announced for the midweek of 23rd February meaning that we have an FPL Double Gameweek 26. The additional Fixtures being:
Home | v. | Away |
---|---|---|
Burnley | v. | Spurs |
Watford | v. | Crystal Palace |
Liverpool | v. | Leeds |
Arsenal | v. | Wolves |
This means that these 8 teams will be playing twice and instantly, Liverpool's fixture against Leeds stands out given they also have a game against Norwich at Anfield.
I can't remember there ever being a better double in FPL so one man springs to mind...
For those that opt for the Triple Captain chip (me), this will be the go-to option and almost certainly the most popular strategy. Other possible chip strategies are:
- Wildcard in GW25 and Bench Boost in GW26 - loading up on double gameweek players but what to do with Brighton and Man Utd in GW25?
- Free Hit in 26 - Due to Arsenal blanking in GWs 25 and 27 and Liverpool also blanking in GW27
There are plenty of options so although my instinct is leading towards the Triple Captain, this will depend upon your team.
I currently have 7 players who will double that gameweek so I'll engineer a team towards 9 or 10. I need Salah before then and might need a Man Utd player for GW25 - leaning towards a left-field choice of Anthony Elanga who has increased chance of keeping his place now that Mason Greenwood's been caught and likely to be unavailable for a few years.
So many thoughts, all fairly incoherent at this point. I'm sure I'll write about them more and structure them better in due course.
Have you thought about it and got anything planned?
