It was big news yesterday - Fiorentina's top scorer and star man, Dusan Vlahovic completed a €75m move to rivals Juventus.
Arsenal had been chasing the 22 year old forward for some time with Spurs and Newcastle also rumoured to be interested in the player but reports suggest that he was never interested in coming to England
and always had his heart set on Juventus.
Fiorentina have been very quick to distance themselves from the transfer, openly saying that it's the players decision and that he forced the move. The club distancing themselves in this way due to the bitter rivalry between the clubs and the board hierarchy not wanting to feel the fans fury at the deal.
To me, this transfer's slightly surprising. Juventus have openly complained about their poor finances as their justification for wanting the breakaway European Super League so for them to find €75m is pretty good going.
Whilst I only known a little bit about Vlahovic due to his Fantaliveseriea performances (he's currently the game's top scorer), I'm looking forward to the Fiorentina v. Juventus match in Florence once it gets rearranged.
