One of the most famous is Lindsey Vonn. Vonn is best known for his outstanding performance in skiing. This is proven by the various achievements and medals he has won while he is still an active ski athlete. Yes, now Vonn has officially retired from the sport when he was quite satisfied in 2019.
But did you know that Vonn has a dream to become an F1 driver?
Lindsey Vonn admitted that he was quite interested in driving the land jet when he was still active in skiing and was trying to focus on the sport. However, as said above, Vonn ultimately couldn't realize his dream of becoming an F1 driver because he wanted to focus on being a ski athlete at that time. Of course Vonn's decision was the right one because he was able to carve a variety of achievements while being a ski athlete.
Vonn was once the world champion of Alpine skiing, even the championship was won by an athlete aged 35 years for four times. So, Vonn had nothing to lose in deciding to stay as a ski athlete.
Even though in his heart Vonn still really wants to be an F1 driver. Because he really believes that it will be fun to be behind the wheel of this famously fast F1 car.
Said Vonn, in the media Olympic Channel Friday (16/10/2020). I thought about switching to F1 racing and trying to become a racer. However, I couldn't because they wanted me to fully commit (to the world of skiing). That would be very exciting for me and that's what I am personally about. I am sure that I would be very happy if I could do that (being an F1 driver), ”concluded the former skier from the United States.
