Watson says goodbye to cricket

Shane Watson has announced his retirement from any form of cricket. The Australian opener, who is currently playing for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, made the decision after a win over Kings XI Punjab on Sunday.

Watson told his Chennai teammates that he was retiring from all formats of cricket.

Earlier, the right-handed all-rounder joined the Chennai franchise in 2016. But before that he said goodbye to international cricket. However, he joined Chennai in 2016 and won the title by scoring a great century in the final.

Watson had earlier played for IPL teams Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the first edition of the event, he also played a great role in winning the Rajasthan title in 2006.

The 39-year-old has played 59 Tests, 190 ODIs and 56 T20Is for the Australian national team.
