After losing three matches in a row, Chennai Super Kings finally saw the face of victory. Mahendra Singh Dhoni's team lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets.
Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday (October 25), scoring 145 for eight in captain Virat Kohli's fifty. Batting for 147 runs, Chennai easily reached the port of victory. Dhoni scored 150 for 2 in the half-century of opener Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Bangalore made a great start in batting. Sam Karen broke the opening pairing of two opener angels Padikkal and Aaron Finch. After the departure of Finch (15), another opener Padikkal (22) returned to the dressing room after adding 15 runs to the scoreboard. Kohli and AB de Villiers kept pulling the team in slow batting in bad times. The pair averaged 72 runs.
De Villiers made 39 off 36 balls with four fours to start the game at the end of the innings. The South African batsman left but Kohli picked up the fifth. However, he could not proceed after that. He made 50 off 43 balls with 1 four and 1 six before giving Karen the second wicket.
No other Bangalore batsman could stand the departure of the Indian captain. Moin Ali (1) and Chris Morris (2) quickly returned to the bathroom. Gurkirat Singh was unbeaten on 2 and Washington Sundar on 5.
Chennai took the storm by storm to chase a modest run. Opener Faf du Plessis returned with 25 off 13 balls, but another opener, Gaikwad, left with Ambati Rayudu (39) and skipper Dhoni (19). His innings of 75 off 51 balls was arranged in 4 fours and 3 sixes.
Of course, Chennai is not gaining any advantage in this victory. Because Dhoni's dream of playing in the play-offs in the current IPL has already ended. With 6 points from 12 matches, they are currently at the top of the list, beating Rajasthan Royals. On the other hand, Bangalore with 14 points in 11 matches.
