When we talk about self defense, it sounds like blocking and defending the attackers strike all the time. The thing is, self defense is not all about blocking and defending strikes. For some situations, attacking is the best defense. Today we are going to talk about what if you cannot strike the attackers.
Maybe you think that you are being attacked, and you cannot attack as a defense, this is not fair. Fight in real life is not fair. This is not any fighting competition where referees make sure that everything is fair and happens according to rules.
When you practice martial arts and do sparring with your training partner, you get used to blocking and striking at the same. You had better practice on how to fight without punching or kicking the attackers. Who knows if you face a situation like this.
You cannot strike the attackers for some reason, but you can grab the attackers. You can throw him on the ground. You can move quickly so that the attacker finds it difficult to reach you. If you are moving out of the attacking line, you do not need to parry and block the strike. The attacker is not able to hit you with punches and kicks or any other strikes.
You can push the attackers and move them away. As a matter of fact, you can use your whole body to defend against the attackers' strike. In case the attackers grab you and try to take you somewhere, you can use basic self defense techniques to escape from that.
I have made a post recently about how to defend yourself against a double shoulder lock. I shared a video link to understand it better and wrote about three self defense techniques. By the way, what I wrote over there, that's not a theory, that's practical and tested. I always recommend learning martial art from martial arts instructors.
In a fight where you cannot attack the attackers, you can grab one attacker and use him as a shield to defend yourself. If the attackers keep attacking you, it is better to find a way to get out of there. So while fighting, you can look for possible options to move from there or ask help from outside, call the police if you can.
So what would you do in a situation like this? Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section. I appreciate your support and feedback! Thank you so much for reading this post.
Stay safe. Always be happy!
