Sports are an essential leadership building and athletic endeavor for our children during the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown. I saw the highschool football team practicing, and their season was almost cancelled due to the pandemic lockdown. With so many sports programs in jeopardy due to the lockdown, here is why we need to get our children back on the athletic field:
Sports builds leaders
Leadership is an essential trait in our children. Sports builds camaraderie, strategic thinking and team building. These are all essential leadership traits our children need to learn.
Sports builds mental toughness
Athletic endeavors are painful. One must go to practice after a long day of school and often times work. We need our children to be tough and to be able to endure life's challenges. We have to hold them accountable in a controlled environment where they will grow in toughness.
Sports builds lifelong fitness practices
In a nation that has as many chronically ill people as the USA, we need to instill fitness regimens into our children before they fall victim to metabolic disorders.
Sports builds self confidence
Self confidence is key throughout life. We need our children to be ready to take on life's challeneges.
Enrolling your children in sports is an excellent decision. Let's make sure the next generation of leaders takes to the field this Fall.
