I don't know why people blame Gerónimo Rulli (Villarreal goalkeeper) for Villarreal's loss to Liverpool. I don't blame him in anyway, he didn't have fault because he can't do more than his capacity. This same Ruilli saved in half time and didn't concede any goal but when Liverpool made the change, things got changed which really caused Villarreal's players flop and goal keeper conceding goals. Pressure that Liverpool gave to Villarreal in second half was more than their capacity, they didn't have option than to play in the way that they could play.
Joggen klopp and Unai Emery are both coach but they know how to read games more than each other. Klopp read the match only with Diego Jota in the first half, there was no pressure at the wing side of Liverpool in the first half at all and once Diego Jota was substituted for Luis Diaz, things got changed for Liverpool, even Anold that was unable to attack in first half attacked and threw good passes. Not only that, even Thiago Alcantara that didn't know what he plays in first half played well in his place, and all these happened due to only one changes.
In the second half, Liverpool really attacked, Liverpool attacked till extend that Fabinho; a defensive midfielders is the one that scored the first goal before Luis Diaz scored the second one by heading the ball on ground, the ball bounced and went in the through the space that's in between Gerónimo Rulli's legs but I still don't blame him because if the defenders were not pressurised, they would mark Luis Diaz, they won't allow him head the ball but maybe because Diaz has played with Alexander-Anold very well he know how the ball would come, he made movement instantly has Anold kicked the ball.
Don't allow Liverpool's 2 and 3 operate if you want to beat them, that's where their engine room is, their passes can't be explained by science, most expensive that English young guy names Alexander-Anold. Once Liverpool has been ahead with two to three goals in a match, then Anold would turn himself to attacker, you would see him at opponent's box 18 operating as if that's his wing and it's because he have believe in his defensive midfielders, he know they would cover for him when he over-lap and I like the way he plays, he's another version of Marcelo and Daniel Alves.
I like what Klopp said in his post match interview. He didn't blame anyone for the way the team played in the first half. He read the game well and switched things up.
As for the Rulli, it's a pity that he got outclassed by Liverpool's attack. Villarreal did well to get this far. They got the respect of the footballing world for the performance.
