Cuffs United announced on their social media on Friday afternoon that they had picked up their former star, Cristiano Ronaldo, back after 12 years. The club's fans were ecstatic as it long looked like the Portuguese was on his way to arch-rivals Manchester City.

But according to former Manchester United player and current expert Gary Neville, the reason and intention of the club bringing Ronaldo home is not just sporting success.

The Glazer family (Manchester United owners) Have done what they normally do when under pressure. They pick up two to three players and it actually makes people keep quiet, Neville tells Sky Sports UK and continues:

I think there are some serious problems in United. They could not let Ronaldo go to Manchester City. They have done it before where Alexis Sanchez could not switch to Manchester City because they stopped it. They had to do that here too. Whether they wanted it then is another matter. No fan of the club can complain with the three players they have got this summer.

Ronaldo played for Manchester United from 2003 to 2009, where he played 292 games and scored 118 goals.
