When Gigio Donnarumma left AC Milan this summer on a free transfer in favor of Paris Saint-Germain, the Italian goalkeeper expected him to play more than has been the case so far. According to the two major Italian media Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere delle Sera, Donnarumma is reportedly dissatisfied with the current amount of playing time.
Only two out of Paris' nine matches this season have offered playing time for the 22-year-old Italian, who was named the best player of the European Championship finals after Italy's final victory over England at Wembley. However, there is a reason why Donnarumma has not been given more minutes than is the case.
According to Corriere della Sera, Paris club coach Mauricio Pochettino is listening to the atmosphere in the locker room, and there are many South American players in the French club's squad. Those players reportedly want Keylor Navas to guard the cage.
The media describes the group of players Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, Marquinhos, Neymar and Keylor Navas as very close-knit. In addition, Pochettino has already once crossed paths with Messi, and according to the media, he does not want to do that again.
