Quincy Promes has been one of the driving forces behind the Ajax squad for the past two seasons, but off the field things are not going so well for the Dutchman.
He has been arrested and at the same time suspected of stabbing. This is confirmed by the Dutch police to The Telegraph, while other media also tell the story.
According to the Dutch police, it is a 28-year-old Dutch man in connection with the stabbing, and according to the police, it should be Quincy Promes.
Allegedly, the episode should have taken place during a big family party back in the month of July, hosted by Quincy Promes, where the Ajax striker got into a brawl with one of the party's participants during the evening. And in fact, it may be one of the Dutchman's close family members that he was up to top with.
The Telegraph writes that the episode was already reported to police over a month ago. However, it is only now that Promes has been arrested, as the police have since investigated the case.
If Quincy Promes is ultimately found guilty, the sentence, according to the media, could be up to four years in prison.
A spokesman for Ajax also said that Quincy Promes did not show up for training on Sunday.
"Quincy has not shown up for training," the Ajax spokesman said, according to The Telegraph.
Quincy Promes has played 45 matches for Ajax, while he also has 40 A-League matches for the Netherlands.
Now, however, his career may be over depending on what sporting consequences it has for the 28-year-old Dutchman.
