Well the Messi saga is over for now, the man stays at Barcelona. I think this was a very dumb move by the Barcelona administration, first of all I really don't think Messi will give his all and he is showing it by not even going to the medical appointment required by the Spanish League. So we have a player who will make an astronomical amount of money and who will most probably not give his all. Yes, the man is a professional and he probably will try to do his best, but deep down I bet he will hold a grudge and won't be the player he has been with Barcelona.
kjBarcelona on the other hand now has a very expensive player who next June can leave for free, so Barcelona will get nothing. I really do think that instead of getting in that position Barcelona should have let him go, any team, well any of the big, rich teams would have gladly given 100 or 150 million Euros for Messi's services, Barcelona would have had a nice windfall and could have started making the team of the future now without Messi, but I guess pride got in their way and now they will pay for it.
I am not a big Messi fan, I do think he is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world and I would have liked to see him in another team, just so he could prove that he is good regardless of where he plays, because we all know Barcelona built the team around him, something which another club, now with him at 33 years won't do. Well I guess it will be until next year when we might see this, but remember by then he will be 34.
