Football has been really doing great things both on the pitch and outside the pitch and it has gave people that hope that they had once lost and now they are better and also helping other people, We all know that a lot of football players have done amazing things and more of them are still doing it now with the likes of

SADIO MANE: helping his home country from where he grew up by build the social amenities which they don't have, the likes of school, hospital and buses to support people and there are more stories of his humanity off the football pitch.

MEMPHIS DEPAY: building a foundation to assist in helping the people of Ghana.

CRISTIANO RONALDO: He has done a lot off the pitch, like donating blood, helping children with serious medical condition and also establishment of schools in the middle east

MESUT OZIL: he established a charity organization which helps to advocate for human rights and one of the popular one which he did was when he won the world cup final with Germany, he donated all of his earnings to fund the surgery for different children.

LIONEL MESSI: An icon both on and off the pitch, he is the brand ambassador for UNICEF and he helps in building and renovating the social amenities in his country and some other part of different countries.

They've all been awesome but have you heard of the footballer that helped to stop a civil war in his home country?... His name is "Didier Drogba", in 2002 a civil war broke out in Côte D'Ivoire, which resulted in a rebel held north and a government held south. Most of the fighting ended in 2004, but tension started creeping up again in 2005.
Just when Côte D'Ivoire was qualifying for the world cup, against all odds, thy won and for the first time ever côte D'Ivoire would compete at the highest level of international football.... With celebrations high in the country and total jubilation, Didier Drogba spoke to the men and women of his home country of côte D'Ivoire saying;
Men and women of côte D'Ivoire, from north and south, center and west and he said they provided on pitch that they can all coexist and he promised the jubilation would unite his people of the ivorians and drogba and his whole teammates all knelt down and begged everyone to drop their weapons and let all of them have fun for the coming football matches rather than shooting.

Clips of the speech was played day and night on the television and eventually it brought both sides of north and south to the negotiating table and they both signed to cease fire.

But that wasn't the end of it, A year later while touring the rebel north of Cote D'Ivoire, Didier Drogba announced that the national team match against the country of Madagascar would be played in the rebel stronghold of Bouake which was supposed to be plaayed in Abidjan the economic capital.

This news stunned everyone and you most also keep in mind that Didier Drogba is from the south, so he really this in attempt to unite the nation. And you know what?, It actually worked out because on the day of the football match against Madagascar, everyone came out both the government, rebel and troops came to support Côte D'Ivoire football team and the violence became a thing of the past.

That wasn't the only good thing that happened that day, because Didier Drogba scored Côte D'Ivoire's final goal in the 5-0 trashing of Madagascar and this sparkles the celebration more across the country... Although the violence erupted once again but it was quickly dissolved.

Didier Drogba and his football teammates gave their nation the hope during its darkest hour and that was one of the best gift you can give a nation in what they think would consume them.
