Chelsea showed up for the match with a surprising 1-4 defeat in the bag from the meeting with Brentford, and they therefore had reason to show the fans that Stamford Bridge is still a difficult place to come! Real Madrid, on the other hand, lined up with their tallist Karim Benzema, who also netted in his latest match, where he once again showed his worth for the Spanish big club. It was therefore planned for a bang of a European evening between two clubs, which have won the Champions League within the last few seasons!

From the start of the match, Chelsea looked on, where they quickly sat on the game, constantly trying to set a high pace, to which Madrid lurked on conversions. Precisely one of these conversions was close to triggering a goal, where Benzema with a neat pass put Chelsea under pressure, and in the end Vinicius was responsible for the final finish which unfortunately, for his part, bounced off the crossbar. The game then wavered back and forth, where it was clearly Chelsea who were most on the ball, but it was Real Madrid who could bring themselves in front with two quick goals, and who else but .. Karim Benzema, again and again! The Frenchman has simply been world class for a long time now and he just seems to get better and better with age! Shortly before the break, however, Chelsea manage to reduce,

We did not have many moments into the second half before Benzema was on the spot again. A giant mistake by Chelsea's goalkeeper Mendy led to Benzema being ready, and therefore Real Madrid were again ahead by two! The match picture after this was actually the same as from the first half, where Chelsea was mostly on the ball, whereas Madrid lurked on conversions, but without some of the teams really became dangerous. We therefore had to go to about twenty minutes before time before another big chance came, where substitute Lukaku missed an obvious header close to goal. It was as if this ignited a fire in the home team, which in the subsequent attacks came up with several good chances. But the ball would not enter, and Real Madrid can therefore travel home to the Spanish capital with an extremely useful result!

On Tuesday 12/04 at 21:00, the return match will take place, where Chelsea must try to chase a victory of at least two goals if they are to make hopes of winning the Champions League again
