I’m pretty sure a lot of you already know by now that I love fighting games a lot and like I have said time and time again, fighting games were the first set of video game genre I played back in the days during my early video game journey. Fighting games are definitely one of my best video games genre to play… in fact, it constitutes the large percentage of games I own and play. If you have read some of my previous posts you would have noticed that I have talked a lot about fighting games like mortal kombat, tekken and street fighter. Mortal Kombat was the first ever video game I played back then and it was what really kicked off my love for fighting games and I want on to play a good number of fighting games till day and still counting.

Since the title of this post is “why I am a huge fan of fighting games”… I will be going straight to some of the main reasons why I love fighting games and why I am a huge fan of them. One of the core reasons why I love playing fighting games is simply how quick I can hop in and hop out of a game… I know this might sound a bit confusing but I will explain… unlike other video game genre like advanture, war games, RPG games, MOBA etc… you can’t just hop in and hop out of a game… if you play any of these video game genre, you will know what I mean. Games that are story based tend to take more time to play and before you know it, you have spent hours and hours playing the game.

However, in fighting game, it is a lot different. Yes, there are fighting games that have story mode… but I am basically talking about the “vs” modes. I can just pick up my controller and play a couple of vs fights and since each fights has a time frame that is tied to the health bar of each fighters… it means that once I finish a fight or beat my opponent, I can decide to call it a quit for the time being. That is the beauty of fighting games… at least for me. Another reason I like fighting games a lot is the high intensity gameplay. Intensity and gore is one of the core characteristics of the modern day fighting game like mortal kombat for instance. The high intensity of the gameplay makes it more immersive. Also, the multiplayer modes is one of the main reasons I like to play fighting games… Being able to fight against other people is what makes fighting games a whole lot of fun.
