As far as sports is concerned, racket sports are up there as one of my favorite sports. Based on my research, there are quite a number of racket sports out there, some already very popular while some not so popular or popularly recognized. Like title of this post says, I will be focusing on the two of my favorite racket sports… Racket sports is such a fun sport and anyone who had played any racket sport would tell you how amazing it is. Not only is it a whole lot of fun to play, it is also high beeficial health and fitness wise.

Badminton

This is without a doubt my favorite racket sport game by a mile. Badminton is one of those sports that when you play once, you immediately get addicted to the sport, it is as simple as that. It is quite an easy sport to play compared to a lot of other sport… the barrier to entry is so low. Badminton is basically a sport that can be played as one vs one or 2 v 2 sport. Like most racket sports, badminton is played on a court and on a surface divided by a net. Whether playing either a 1v1 or 2v2, the goal is to land the shuttle on the floor of the opposition’s half or the court. It is a truly fun sport to play and enjoy. I used to play this quite a lot back in the days… and I was lucky to own the badminton racket and shuttle. I would set up a crude court with a net and play against friends… That was how I was able to learn before progressing to play in an actual badminton court. Really amazing.

Tennis

Tennis is another racket sport I like a lot. To someone who don’t know about badminton and tennis, both sports look a lot similar as they use a very similar looking racket, the court look similar as well… however, they are two different sports played quite differently. The racket of a tennis is way more heavier and denser than that of badminton. Tennis uses a ball while badminton uses a shuttle. The number of players are pretty much the same but the way it is played is quite different. In badminton, the aim is to land (hit the shuttle to touch the floor) in your opponent’s half. While in tennis, the aim is to hit the ball in such a way that it single bounces off your opponents play area of the court without getting a reply back. I come again… in badminton, the ball needs to touch the ground to score points… while in tennis, the ball needs to bounce more than once or single bounces off the playing area of the opponent’s court without getting a correct reply, to score points. This is also fun to play because the gameplay and set up feels a lot similar to badminton. However, I like badminton better because of how light it is, playing tennis takes a lot of energy and it strains the arm muscles a lot more than when playing badminton. Overall, both sports are really amazing and fun to play and as such, they are two of my top favorite racket sports.
