Awesomeness of Cycling and Why it is an Amazing Recreational Activity…

Bicycle riding which is also known as cycling is such a fun and amazing recreational activity. It is also considered a type sport and is a popularly recognized sports that is also part of the Olympics sports. Bicycle riding or cycling which is a more professional name but I just prefer to call it bicycle riding as it feels a lot more personal, for me is one of those activities that I do and love without even thinking about sports. Riding bicycles has always been one of my hobbies… I mean, I so much enjoy riding… there is nothing as fun as picking up a bicycle and riding it on a cool lonely street.

I can remember back in the days when I didn’t know how to ride a bicycle and I always admire other children riding their bicycles. I knew it was something I really wanted to lead so badly. Learning how to ride a bike was so interesting as I leant it in a pretty interesting way. I remember always moving down a sloppy ground without paddling and just trying to get used to gaining control of the bicycle while in motion. When I got pretty comfortable controlling the bicycle, I moved over to the next stage which was to paddle the bike to move it from a flat ground and without any influence from the ground surface. This was probably the most difficult part of learning how to ride a bicycle. I can remember vividly how amazing the feeling was when I was able to move the bicycle and paddle it while maintaining control. It was such an amazing feeling. From then, I didn’t look back and loved and still love every bicycle riding experience.

Aside from the fun and excitement that comes from riding a bicycle, cycling offers a lot of health and fitness benefits as well… One of the benefits is definitely better mental well-being – which according to sources and experience, people who are physically active tend to have a much improved mental well-being. Cycling is a sport and as such, is great for fitness. Riding bicycle helps to strengthen the leg muscles and also improve balance. It is also great for weight loss… Riding bicycle like every other sports/physical activity helps in weight loss. Another health benefit is cycling is that it helps improve the immune system… Great for cardio, and as we all know the benefits of quality exercise and it goes a long way to improve the immune system. The benefits goes on… and for me, the benefits of bicycle riding/cycling can never be overemphasized. And of course, let’s not forget that bicycle riding is a great time saver to move from point A to point B in a much lesser time compared to walking :). Bicycle riding is such a fun activity and for me, one of my favorite recreational activity.
