My New Office is a Boxing Ring

So here's my new office, it's a cozy 20 square feet, and features a soft floor that feels good on the feet and some bouncy ropes to keep you from tumbling down onto the floor.

I'm an amateur Muay Thai athlete and until I find work again in Market Research my gym owner has hired me to do PT's [Private Training]. So about once or twice a day I drive down to the gym, for which I now have my own key, and teach people the art of Muay Thai kickboxing.

I have also started teaching classes, on Wednesday evenings you'll find me here with a small class of about 15 students. Prior to the pandemic our classes would be around 25 which was capacity for the gym. Now we have some safety measures in place to prevent the spread of covid, one of these includes a reduced class size, with 12-15 being the max class size allowed.

What is Muay Thai?

Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand. In the main picture above you see a Canadian flag and the Thai flag.

Muay Thai is a devastating striking system originally used by the Thai military, a hand to hand combat system that includes boxing, kicks, knees and elbows. Here in Ontario, Canada the sport of Muay Thai is governed and sanctioned by an officially recognized commission through the province. Last year I fought 6 times, in multiple countries including Panama, USA, and Canada. I was 6-0 and won a Canadian national championship last November.

I'm very thankful to the gym owner for giving me an opportunity to teach and train people and earn cash while I'm looking for full time work in market research. I do love this sport and really enjoy teaching and personal training, getting people fit and helping them accomplish their fitness goals is satisfying work.

Muay Thai is powerful knowledge, it's devastating. Walk softly and carry a big kick.

Ciao for now
