We are back again with another exciting continuation of my “what should we expect from the top teams next season” series. Today, we will be looking at Arsenal and what we should expect from them this season. Arsenal have begun their new season campaign on a positive note, clinching important wins as Arteta aim to bring back the successful days at Arsenal. Their recent progress in the EFL cup will serve as a boost for them as they prepare for yet another challenge in their next game.
Arsenal, a club that was at the helm of years ago, reaching the champions league final and dominating the premier league by winning the league unbeaten. A record that is yet to be broken by any premier league team. however, things hasn’t been the same these past few years for them as they have struggled to even make it to the champions league let alone reach anywhere close to the top again.
Arsenal have been an interesting side as always… sometimes, they will look like a top side and sometimes, they will totally look like a mid-table side. They’ve become a laughing stock by rival fans and have been regarded as the weakest side in the top 6 by many. This season has been the same old story for them… they started pretty well but have ended up in a struggling situation where they are hoping to fight for the top 4. The good news for the Arsenal fans is that they now have Mikel Arteta, one of their very own, a club legend who is beginning to find his feet with the team prior to this who coronavirus problems and Arsenal began to look like a team that could do great things with Arteta in charge.
Based on their rise in form before the corona problem, a lot of talking points have surfaced concerning how good Arsenal might be next season if they are able to add a few quality names to the team. For me, I think Arsenal will be Arsenal next season. There is a lot of catching up that they need to do before they, even think of competing for the premier league… However, I expect them to be a lot stronger next season as they will most likely sign a few quality players for Arteta. They’ve already added in their record signing Pepe who is yet to prove why Arsenal went out of their way to pay so much money for him, however, next season could be his season, as he has so much talent and qualities to become one of the best players in the premier league. Nonetheless, I wouldn’t expect Arsenal to be strong contenders for the top 4 as there are other teams who will be far more superior to occupy the top 4 spots.
What do you think? - What are you expecting from Arsenal this season?
They might get to the top 4, they have a good offense and Arteta seems to be good at tactics.
