Thomas Tuchel taking over the Chelsea head coach job is no longer news as he is already 2 days into his job as Chelsea head coach. We all know Chelsea are in a difficult moment right now, now with a new coach, they would obviously need time to understand the ideas of the manager. This was clearly a difficult job to take according to Tuchel, as he has probably never taken over a team mid-way into the season. Chelsea went into the game against Wolves with just 1 training session with the new manager and about 24 hrs meeting their new manager…
The Chelsea vs Wolves match was a very tricky one for the blues considering the circumstances they were in, however, they totally dominated the game and were very unfortunate not to come out with all 3 points. Looking at that game and how much Chelsea’s gameplay improved under 24hrs of Tuchel’s management, you can tell that there is light at the end of the tunnel for Chelsea. Based on that game, it is clear as daylight what Tuchel is trying to do with his Chelsea team and the direction they are going for in terms of how he wants his team to play and the ambitions he is aiming for with this Chelsea team.
Anyone who watched that game can’t say otherwise that there is an improvement within the squad and the way the team play. In other words, it was an impressive start for Tuchel and to life in the premier league as the new Chelsea manager. After listening to him speak in various interviews and his press conference, you cannot help but like the man… he is such a likable character, full of charisma and passion for the game. You can see that he fully understands the game and is tactically astute. According to a lot of the Chelsea fans, this is a big improvement compared to what they had before and a step in the right direction.
Exciting times for the Chelsea fans as they now have a manager who is not only experienced including at the top level but also pretty young and understands the tactical aspects of the game and has a clear direction and philosophy of football. That is sometime that was missing before Tuchel was appointed as the new manager of Chelsea. Their match against Wolves was a clear audition to what we should expect from this Chelsea team under Tuchel and if things work out well for them, they could return to being a force in Europe like they were known to be.
