Coming as a surprised shocker, reports which came out earlier today made it clear that Chelsea were about to part ways with Frank Lampard… since the news came out abruptly, a lot of people were not really sure what was going on because of the number of sources reporting the news. However, while we were still trying to take in the whole thing that was happening, Chelsea made it official on their social media channels that they have parted ways with Frank Lampard. It was after Chelsea’s official confirmation that everything became real.
Looking at what has happened today, it is weird that we are all sad that Chelsea’s legend as a player has been sacked, however, we all somehow knew that this was going to happen at some point – if it didn’t happen now, it was probably going to happen at the end of the season but we all knew it was inevitable. Chelsea this season has gone from been poor to going on a run of wins and unbeaten run to a run of very poor results and performances. This isn’t normal for a team that looked so good some months ago and were winning games. Something was wrong somewhere and some sources and rumors suggests that Lampard has lost his dressing room and some players weren’t happy with the way he is handling situations.
We all knew that Lampard was inexperienced as a manager and only had one season at Derby County… so we all knew it was always going to come to a time when he will face some difficulty at Chelsea. However, his overachievement last season, finishing top 4 with mostly academy players gave everyone and the board the impression that with top quality signings and young talents, then Chelsea should be challenging for the title. Things looked like it was going to that direction some months ago, but it didn’t take long for his inexperience to be exposed and as usual, what came next was the dip in performances and results as Chelsea are now about 11 points off the top of the table.
So what went wrong? Why was Lampard sacked?... was it only down to poor results and performances or was there something more that we don’t know about…
Well if you ask me, I definitely have no idea but I know that Lampard being sacked wasn’t all down to Chelsea recent poor performances and results, there were things that happened inside and also losing the dressing room looked like a big factor as well. It is one thing for a manager to lose games but it is also one thing for the manager to lose the dressing room especially going about 2 months with poor performances and results. We can only guess, but only time will tell… one thing we can say is that we wish Lampard the best wherever he goes.
