En el primer round, los dos peleadores comenzaron a mostrar sus habilidades y tácticas. As I said before, "the year and five days (5) of inactivity" that Conor McGregor had was vital for Dustin to win the fight, where in certain minutes we saw a McGregor without reaction and receiving the flurry of punches from the American, who took advantage of these opportunities to attack with strong kicks and punches to the face of the Irishman. From my point of view, the fight was totally for Dustin Poirier, showing intelligence and skill to dodge McGregor's strikes. Dustin, had the courage to counter the attacks of McGregor and tell him: "Here I am too". Recall that in 2014, these two faced each other, with Conor McGregor emerging victorious in two rounds, leaving Poirier knocked out. In this way, Poirier, takes revenge and beat his opponent by the same way.
