Saludos cordiales estimados blurtamigos, el día de hoy les contaré un poco sobre uno de los deportes extremos que se practican en mi país Venezuela, específicamente en "La ciudad de los caballeros", en Mérida, estado Mérida.Se trata del Parapente o Ícaro, como se le llama en otros lugares.

Kind regards, dear friends, today I will tell you a little about one of the extreme sports practiced in my country Venezuela, specifically in "The city of knights", in Mérida, Mérida state. It is Paragliding or Icarus, as it is called elsewhere.

Este espectacular deporte de naturaleza extrema y arriesgada, se practica en un lugar denominado "Tierra Negra", en el sector "Las Gonzales", en lasinmediaciones de la ciudad de Mérida, en los andes Venezolanos.

This spectacular sport of extreme and risky nature is practiced in a place called "Tierra Negra", in the "Las Gonzales" sector, in the vicinity of the city of Mérida, in the Venezuelan Andes.

Este deporte lo puede practicar cualquier persona que goce de buena salud, que no le tema a las alturas y que tenga un peso que no exceda los noventa kilogramos, lo que requiere es deseos de elevarse a las alturas.

This sport can be practiced by anyone who is in good health, who is not afraid of heights and who weighs not more than ninety kilograms, which requires the desire to rise to the heights.

El horario ideal para realizar las prácticas de Parapente, es preferiblemente en horario diurno, por la oscilación de los vientos, donde son más fáciles de controlar desde las 9: 00 am hasta las 3:00 pm.

The ideal time to practice Paragliding is preferably daytime, due to the oscillation of the winds, where they are easier to control from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Si no conoces nada sobre el deporte y tu deseo es vivir esa experiencia, te cuento que existe en la zona un grupo de pilotos experimentados, que ofrecen su servicio de entrenamiento y guía para que te lances a la aventura con todas las medidas de seguridad garantizadas (incluye paracaídas de emergencias).

If you do not know anything about the sport and your desire is to live that experience, I will tell you that there is a group of experienced pilots in the area, who offer their training and guide services so that you can embark on an adventure with all the security measures guaranteed (includes emergency parachute)

El parapente depende de las condiciones climatológicas que predominen en el ambiente de montaña para el momento de la práctica, por lo que si las condiciones atmosféricas representan lluvias torrenciales y vientos mayores a 60 kilómetros por hora, significa que no son favorables y hay que esperar que el tiempo mejore.

Paragliding depends on the weather conditions that prevail in the mountain environment at the time of the practice, so if the atmospheric conditions represent torrential rains and winds greater than 60 kilometers per hour, it means that they are not favorable and we must wait that the weather improves.

El tiempo de vuelo promedio para mantenerse en el aire, una ve que las condiciones se presten favorablemente para mantenerse en altura oscila entre 10 y 30 minutos para principiante; pero para los pilotos más hábiles pueden mantenerse en el aire hasta dos horas, dependiendo de las corrientes de aire ascendente y descendente.

The average flight time to stay in the air, once the conditions are favorable to stay in altitude ranges between 10 and 30 minutes for beginners; but for the most skilled pilots they can stay in the air for up to two hours, depending on the ascending and descending air currents.
