The Supernatural Chevy Impala
Carry on my wayward son For there'll be peace when you are done, is the song that comes to mind when I see the black Chevy Impala driven by Dean Winchester setting out to hunt things carrying out the family business with his brother Sam Winchester.
Here are some facts you probably didn't know about the Impala in Supernatural.
Fact 1 - I can only dream about owning one of these fine driving machines and yet Supernatural has a total of nine of their very own, given the number of times the brothers crashed the car. The car impala that is used in the daily shoots is named Hero, I think that is the ideal name for a car of that nature.
Fact 2 - To think we almost never saw this car in the TV series, the writers originally wrote and saw Dean driving a 65 Mustang, and thanks to the neighbor of Eric Kripke he recommended a 67 impala because of the big trunk space.
Fact 3 - Here goes my dream of owning this beauty hahaha, since the show aired the prices of the 1967 impala went straight through the roof becoming the most searched car on the internet.
Fact 4 - There are two sets of license plates used in the series one read KAZ 2Y5 the KAZ was for Kansas and the 2Y5 was for the year the series premiered in 2005 with the second license plate was CNK 80Q3 this was to get the law off their backs.
Fact 5 - Kitt in driving Sam and Dean around sounds like a good idea, the writer originally wanted tp car be the central focus almost becoming the main character in the series. He pitched the idea to bring back the idea that since Kitt graced our screens we would be able to see another car take center stage, with 11 seasons in the making the Impala has really taken its places has been a main character in the series.
This car has really played a big role in the series and I can assure if the car is changed for a different model there will be an uproar with the fans, the impala is now considered part of the Winchester family, this has been a series I followed from the very first episode and it will be sad to see the series end but like all good things, it must come to an end.
