This is the 1956 Volkswagen Beetle, I laughed so hard when I saw this car, reason being , growing up I used to hate it if i heard this car drive pass my house.
It had such an annoying engine sound that was just rowdy and used to drive me up the wall.
I am not too sure if I regard this as a collectors item, am I biased? Not sure...it just seems that there are far too many off these that still exist regardless of the condition and to get your hands on one like this isn't difficult.
Personally , I would not chase after this car but I bet there are some people out there actually remember their parents owning one and probably have fond memories of it.
People relied on this car as their daily driver and commuted their families around through good times and bad so it is not all bad.
The interior was pretty basic and understandable based on the year it was made and the cost to produce them, this might have been the equivalent of a VW UP in the day.
This car is priced at R450 000, way too much in my opinion, I would rather opt for a new 4x4 or a down payment for a house! This car comes with 15 inch steel wheels, 1.2 Liter engine, 4 speed manual and it has the engine in the rear.
How many off you actually remember this vehicle growing up and did it annoy you?
