The Emerging of Cars

in blurtrides •  4 years ago

When you research timelines of when cars are made, there is much to debate in terms of the year timelines, do we regard any vehicle that can transport people as a car? does it need to look like the modern day car with four wheels , does it need to have a robust engine? In my opinion, it's what you see fit but consider the evolution and appreciate the changes over time. We are indeed fortunate to be born in the times where technology is so advanced and improving day by day. I am pretty sure that 30 years from now someone would look back at us and say "wow that was such old tech, and I wonder how they managed with such inefficient machines"

Ofcourse I am picturing flying cars 30 years from now like in the cartoon "The Jetson's"

The above was manufactured in the late 1800s by Carl Benz and one would argue that this looks more like a bicycle or some sort of motorbike than a car which takes me to my earlier statement of people would argue when the first car was made.

Regardless of our debates, this is classified as a car no matter what it looked like, it was powered by gasoline and it could transport you in what would then be regarded to as "comfort".

Looking back at these designs, It looks pretty basic and totally unsafe, but in it's time it was absolutely convenient and safe.

Though I appreciate the evolution and how we got here, when I look back at history, Henry Ford's concept of a car catches my eye as that starts to look more like what I want to see when you mention the word car and that is what intrigues me.

This was called the Quadricycle, though still riding on bicycle wheels, it looked more of a car than Carl Benz initial invention, it was a 2 seater and powered by a 4 horse power engine. I guess I am somewhat biased because one of my favorite cars was a Ford therefore I appreciate Henry Ford's evolution much more...

Henry Ford's inventions started picking up rapidly in the 1900s with the Ford Model T being the flagship that made the company profit.

This is definitely a car I will keep in my garage even if it isn't in working condition.

Hope you enjoyed a little history lesson.

The history of the car is very extensive, every manufacturer has invented something new to make driving a car more comfortable. I am doing a history series over 1 month. It is called "Automobile Time Travel", I personally learned a lot. Thanks for your contribution.
