Today I felt a bit adventurous and wondered what kind of vehicle I would like to go on an adventure with. My thoughts was a long road trip with friends and the vehicle that came to mind was the Hyundai Santa Fe.
The reason I chose this was comfort, I have test drove one and I must say it is a very smooth drive and it would make a long trip seem very easy.
It has a 4 cylinder engine and pushes a maximum output of 142 kw, this may seem fast but the speed evens out with the weight 4729 lbs on the SUV. It is enough to cruise around on a trip though so that is important.
It also comes in the diesel blend which is very practical and affordable , especially for folks in South Africa.
The rear inside is very spacious and as you can see above that you can re-claim alot of space if you drop the seat, a young couple getting away for a month can pack loads of stuff in there !
The car is also fitted with leather seats all around and looks and feels very classy.
The interior front is very nice, gears are in arms reach and not an effort to change gears when trying to move back and forth in tight spaces which require many gear changes.
It gives you that pilot feel, having everything in your cockpit and ready for you to take on the open air. If only the Santa Fe has wings!
The rear is nice. It is bulky and is raised which helps getting over minor obstacles on the road so it is very forgiving versus a much lower vehicle that could get its under carriage damaged when moving on gravel or off road.
This is definitely appealing to an adventure dad who loves getting out with family, be it camping or road trips .
