I recently watched the movie Ford Vs Ferrari starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon. There was a little animosity between Ford and Ferrari which left Ford determined to out do Ferrari on the race track by any means neccesary.
Ford was eager to prove a point to Ferrari and beat them on the race track of Le Mans especially since no American car has won a race on that track.
Ford partnered with Shelby to build a race car which would beat Ferrari. Piloted by Ken Miles whom also was the intelligence behind the car handling and performance.
Though money thrown around by Ford, they still did not manage to win the race although if the movie is anything to go by then I would say that they came pretty close!
I only heard about Ken Miles through the movie so I did a little research to find out exactly who is this Ken Miles.
Ken Miles was born in Birmingham, he seemed as though he didn't have a great future ahead of him based on the fact that he dropped out of school at age 15 to become an apprentice in a Motor shop,however I personally don't judge a person by their appearances or intelligence but by their passion, passion is the biggest motivator and what makes people great.
He was a very skilled driver and mechanic and he was known and loved for his talents.
The above picture is what I found while doing my research. Been trying to find the specs of the car but couldn't. Could only find the winner's car spec.
It was a great movie, seems some what true but ultimately a great watch even if you are not a car enthusiast.
