The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has given permission to ride motorcycles under ride sharing service in compliance with hygiene rules after a long break due to corona.
Initially, 1,157 motorcycles with Ride Sharing Motor Vehicle Enlistment Certificate have been given this permission.
The licensed motorcycles will be able to travel in DTCA area, i.e. Dhaka Metro, Gazipur Metro, Dhaka, Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Narsingdi and Gazipur district areas. Earlier, the service was covered but no permission was given for a few more cities including Chittagong. BRTA Director (Engineering) Lokman Hossain Mollah issued a notification in this regard last Thursday and sent it to all the companies providing ride sharing services.
