Motorcycle's brake system

The brake system of a motorcycle is a common part of a bike. This is the main safety measure of the bike which makes the bike suitable for riding. The history of making brakes is related to the history of the development of bikes. Although an integral part of the bike, it is actually the protector of the driver's life. This small and necessary part is used to convert the kinetic energy of the bike into heat. This is what stops the speed of the bike.
Most bikes use either disc brakes or drum brakes. Other high speed bikes use hydraulic brakes.

The main problem with fully describing the work of the brakes on a bike is that it is actually a powerful form of braking for ordinary bicycles. So to give a comparative description of the brakes of the bike, the development of the bike that has been achieved so far is highlighted here.

Motorcycles are becoming more complex day by day. The more beautiful the bikes, the more complex their devices become. Three types of motorcycle brakes are available in the local market of Bangladesh. These are highlighted below: -

Motorcycle drum brake system

Cheap and ordinary bikes of 80-135 cc usually use drum brake system. In 1902, Louis Renault invented the modern drum brake system. The drum brake system basically uses one set of drum plates, wheel cylinders, some springs and some pins.

The first element is the back plate where all the elements are attached. Brakes are mainly caused by drum brakes. The wheel cylinder forces the piston to move over the piston cup which causes the brake needle or su bike to stop and finally the brake su which is made by welding two metal cylinders. This brings pressure from the brake fluid to the wheel cylinder from the master cylinder when the brakes are applied to the bike. Fluid brake sue brings K in contact with the device.

When the work is done so far, the rotation of the wheel is stopped by the drum brake which is attached to the wheel. This reduces the speed of the bike. When the speed increases, the springs return the su to their previous position.

Motorcycle disc brake system :.

The second type of brake system that I have mentioned in this article is the disc brake system of a motorcycle. Disc brakes are commonly used on high speed bikes such as the Yamaha Fazer or other expensive bikes that are 150 cc or more. Even local brand Walton is using disc brakes in their 135cc and 150cc bikes.

Brake discs are usually grooved and perforated to facilitate washing. This is the most widely used brake in the bike industry since the first use of disc brakes in the Honda CB650 in 1989. The main parts of this break are,

  1. Caliper, so that there is a piston.

  2. Rotor, which is placed in the center.

In disc brakes, the brake pads press the rotor instead of the wheel and this pressure is carried through the hydraulics instead of the wires and causes friction between the discs and then the discs slow down the bike.

Motorcycle hydraulic brake system :.

The third type of brake system is also inadequate for high speed bikes. Some Chinese bikes such as Johnson & Kinson or some interesting bikes use such high power brakes.

The hydraulic brake system uses fluid or special type of fluid to make the brakes work. The brake work starts from the master cylinder. The pedal is attached to the master cylinder. When the driver presses on the pedals, the hydraulic fluid increases the pressure in the specified area, causing it to put pressure on the brake piston which causes a collision between the brake pad and the wheel and as a result stops the bike completely.

Now at the end of the writing, it can be said that the type of brakes on your bike is easily determinable. It can be drums, discs or hydraulics which are essential for making fun of the bike and it should be properly maintained routinely. Because a safe bike is a good bike.
