These pictures bring back some memories for me. Once my dad and I were riding in a van like this owned by a friend. We were going up a mountain grade pretty slowly and I remember the way the engine sounded and my dad talking about, "Only having a thin sheet of metal between you and any front end collision." They were pretty fun vehicles.
My friend and I had to "repark" one of the VW bugs after his sister took it out for a joy ride at an early age and couldn't get it back into the driveway in the right way. We both picked it up and moved it but the rear wheels were off camber when we set it back down again. At first we were worried that the parents would notice something odd about it but then I figured we could roll it a bit to straighten out the wheels. We did that and afterwards it looked perfectly normal.
Ha ha .... great stories. I have always wanted one. I go to all the car shows hoping I might find a good deal. They are always out of my price range. Maybe one day I will buy one with a little Blurt. #blurtrides
I used to have one of those a long time ago :) Loved it!
