Hi All...
The idea of ride sharing is not very common in our country but its use is increasing day by day. As a result, the country's motorcycle market is growing. Besides, this two-wheeler is being bought at a lower price than before due to the production or addition of motorcycles in the country. In addition to these benefits, the amount of motorcycle sales is increasing day by day due to the low government cost for registration.
How many motorcycles are there?
According to the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority or BRTA, the number of motorcycles registered in the capital Dhaka till the last day of 2017 is 5 lakh 82 thousand 6. Of these, 65,252 motorcycles were registered in 2016 alone. On the other hand, the number of registered motorcycles in the country is 23 lakh 10 thousand 8. However, as many people outside the capital do not register their bikes, there is no specific information about the actual number of motor bikes.
Note that the number of motor bikes registered in the districts outside Dhaka is relatively low, so the total number of bikes is much higher than the mentioned number. Not only that, the number has gone beyond imagination as many motorbikes have entered the country through smuggling in the border areas.

The highest number of motorcycles registered in the last five years was in 2016, amounting to 75,252. However, the lowest number of motorcycles was sold in 2013. 26 thousand 331. According to various organizations marketing and selling motorcycles, the number of registered motorcycles in the capital Dhaka alone may exceed one lakh this year.
Ride sharing platform
Pathao, Uber Moto, Move, Eziar, Sam, Ovai Moto, Dako Captain, Let's Go, Easy Ride, etc. are some of the apps currently operating as bike riding sharing platforms in the capital. Launched in late 2016 for the first time in the country, these ride sharing apps quickly became popular across the capital. Besides, the service has also expanded to Chittagong, the commercial capital.
The sector claims that this service will be more popular in the coming years. There is currently no supply of ride sharing.
Kazi Omar Ferdous, Chief Operating Officer of Ride Sharing Platform Ovai, said, “Currently, there are 5.5 million trips in Dhaka alone. This means that people travel from one place to another 5.5 million times. As such, the market for ride-sharing apps will grow in the coming days. ”
