Executive Motors of Bangladesh has been ranked fifth among Asia and Oceania as a distributor of BMW Seven Series models. The company sold 60 cars in 2016, each worth about Rs 2.5 crore.
BMW Group is a German luxury car manufacturer that produces BMW brand cars. Executive Motors is the sole distributor of the company's vehicles in Bangladesh. Executive Motors has recently been listed in the Best BMW Seven Series Dealer category in the Sub-Regional Finalist category in the BMW Group's 'Excellence in Sales' competition for its success in car sales.
Executive Motors organized an event at a hotel in the capital on Thursday to announce the success. Dewan Muhammad Sajid Afzal, general manager of the company, said that the income of the people of the country has increased, which is reflected in the car sales. Even four years ago, BMW was not so sure about car sales in this country. Bangladesh is now fifth in the top ten in car sales in Asia.
Sajid Afzal further said that Executive Motors is currently marketing seven and a half cc BMW cars in addition to the Seven Series. The price of this car was 1 crore 20 lakh to 1 crore 30 lakh before. Now it is being sold for 60 lakh tk.
In 2017, BMW earned 9,400 crore euros from the sale of cars around the world, in Bangladeshi currency, which is equivalent to 8 lakh 50 thousand crore taka. BMW's one-year car sales are equivalent to Bangladesh's two-and-a-half year budget.
