It is learned that PHP Automobiles, the only car integrator in the country in the private sector, has planned to market this car under the PHP Maltex brand.
According to company sources, PHP Maltex will start marketing in 64 districts of the country in three formats. These are: Car, Open and Pickup formats. The 510 cc diesel-powered manual gear can comfortably seat five people in Maltex's car and open format.
The pickup format can accommodate two people as well as transport goods in a space of about two thousand liters. The estimated market value of the car in these three formats will be 7 to 8 lakh rupees. According to company sources, the PHP Maltex will be able to cover 26 km per liter of diesel.
Its speed will be 50 kilometers per hour. The suspension and body of the car are being assisted by Polaris from the United States and Eicher Company from India. PHP Automobiles Managing Director. Akhtar Parvez Hiru said that work is underway to bring PHP Maltex to the market at a very affordable price at the beginning of the new year.
If this car comes in the market, huge amount of foreign currency will be saved. Besides, users will also get the opportunity to receive improved services. Those who run small or medium scale businesses will be the buyers of this car. Comfort, safety and braking are the three most important issues in the car.
In the private sector, the PHP family announced its investment in the car assembly industry in early 2015. The company has started the work of assembling cars and motorcycles in Sagarika industrial area of Chittagong.
At present, a factory of PHP Automobiles is being constructed on about 30 acres of land in Anwara, Chittagong, where more than 100 officers and employees including 50 expert engineers will work.
