The name Ferrari is so bright in the world of cars that it has a place in the heart of every car lover. The brand has taken itself to an unrivaled position in terms of taste and excellence. Their success in terms of consumer satisfaction is also enviable. Each Ferrari is built on a unique blend of speed, design and purity. There is no comparison in the racing track. The huge fuss about Ferrari among car lovers is enough to prove its superiority.
Behind all successful ventures is a dreamer. Microsoft's Bill Gates, Apple's Steve Jobs, Amazon's Jeff Bezos are his shining examples. The name of such a dreamer is also involved with the Ferrari company. He is Enzo Ferrari.
Enzo Ferrari was born on February 17, 1896, in the city of Modena, Italy. And his life was like ten ordinary children. The days were passing quite close to the family. He saw car racing for the first time when he was ten years old. The time was 1906. He was surprised to see that many cars were engaged in a strange competition to overtake each other. I fell in love with this extraordinary game at the first sight. From then on, he spends every day with the dream of car racing in his chest.
World War I has already started. The young Enzo joins the war. He fought as a soldier in the Italian Army. At the end of the war he returned to his hometown. He needs a job then. He applied for a job at the then car manufacturer Fiat. But Fiat gives him back. Disappointed, Enzo later joined a small automobile company.
In the early 1920's, Enzo's dream came true. He was hired as a racing driver at the then famous company Alfa Romeo. Get the then famous racing driver Tajio Nuvolari as a colleague.
In 1929, Enzo Ferrari founded the 'Scuderia Ferrari' or 'Team Ferrari' while working at the Alfa Romeo. It was a car racing group. Although Alfa Romeo has a racing department of its own, they approve of Scuderia. In most cases, Scuderia drivers used Alfa Romeo cars. In a short time Team Ferrari became an essential part of the Alfa Romeo. As a result, Alfa Romeo closed its own racing division in 1933, and Scuderia Ferrari became the company's head.
This situation continued till 1936. That year Alfa Romeo revived their own racing department called ‘Alpha Course’ and shut down the Scuderia Ferrari. Enzo joins as head of the Alpha Course. However, he could not stay there long. Because, the grief of breaking up his own racing group was driving him away.
Two years later, in 1939, Enzo resigned from Alfa Romeo on the condition that he would not use the Ferrari name in any race or racing car for the next four years. Within a week of his departure from Alfa Romeo, he founded a company called Auto Aveo Castruzioni, which aimed to build racing cars and compete in various car races. The 'AAC 815' was the first car made by Enzo or Ferrari. However, the name Ferrari could not be used in the car due to a four-year ban.
When World War II broke out in 1940, Enzo had to shut down all activities of his company. The four-year contract with Alfa Romeo ended in the war. As a result, all the hurdles in keeping the name of the company and the name of the manufactured vehicle Ferrari were removed. In 1944, the Allied bombing of the Ferrari factory in Maranello. In 1945, Ferrari introduced the world to the V12 engine they built, which later became the signature engine of the cars they built.
In 1948, Ferrari built a car called the Ferrari 125S. It was the first car to use the Ferrari name and used a V12 engine. On May 11 of that year, the 'F125S' participated in the Piacenza Racing Circuit. This was the first time a Ferrari had raced.
Luigi Cinetti was a successful Italian car racer. Although of Italian descent, he became a US citizen in 1947. He won the 24-hour Le Mans and Spa 24 Hours races in 1949 with a Ferrari 166MM. It was the first time a Ferrari had won the 'Le Mans' and 'Spa 24 Hours' races. The 'Carrera Panamerican' race was his last major race win.
Ferrari still dominates the racing circuit. Michael Schumacher won the World Championship with Ferrari for five consecutive years from 2000-2004. The Ferrari California, Ferrari 488 GTB, Ferrari 488 Spider, Ferrari 488 Pista, Ferrari 512 berlinetta are some of the models that are currently shaking the market.
Since its inception, Ferrari has been offering customers one extraordinary car after another. Each car is a wonder and shines in its own way.
